CHRIST CHURCH Blacklands was the wonderful setting for a very moving service, on Sunday, November 28.

The lighting of the candles to welcome the coming of Christmas was accompanied by the clear message of the stirring narratives and the readings from the Bible.

There was excellent singing from a large choir and the organ was played at its best.

All was initiated by the Rev Canon Fletcher, a priest of dedicated devotion to the church and the needs of the congregation.

We look forward to Sunday, December 19 when at 5pm there will be the traditional service of Nine Lessons and Carols.
