Songs lift shop spirits

I CALLED in to Morrisons supermarket last Tuesday, December 16, in the afternoon, to be greeted by the wonderful sound of the Davison School Choir performing a selection of Christmas songs and carols.

And what an excellent job they made of it too, all the girls were singing very well, with many of them also harmonising.

They lifted the entire atmosphere within the store, with many shoppers and staff singing along and clapping.

And of equal importance, the girls all appeared cheerful, which makes such a difference to the spectator!

We have had a number of those so-called "carol singers" calling at our house in recent weeks and most of them are pretty useless, they begrudgingly give you a verse of We Wish You a Merry Christmas and Jingle Bells and then expect payment.

I would much prefer the Davison's choir to call round and show them how it should be done!

The girls were collecting for charity at Morrisons, Guild Care I believe. I hope they collected lots of money, they certainly deserved to.
