Traffic gets worse

I HAVE noticed traffic around Littlehampton getting steadily worse with each passing year and last week’s tragic accident, on the A259, in my opinion highlights just how deadly our roads are.

Although I only work two miles from where I live, it sometimes takes me 15 to 20 minutes simply to get home.

Our roads are crammed full of cars and I can only see this problem getting worse. It was only a matter of time before something like this happened.

With the approved Courtwick development adding another 1,200 cars to our roads, and the possible North Littlehampton development potentially adding a significantly larger number of cars to our clogged highways, accidents like this will, sadly, become more frequent.

The roads in and out of Littlehampton will be almost inaccessible. Look how much chaos was caused by one crash. That is with our current highway system, without the burden of added cars from new developments.

Highway infrastructure in Littlehampton will need a radical re-think, if we are to avoid congestion and further accidents.
