They were going to do it anyway

SO, West Sussex County Council is to start charging for transport to faith schools, despite "extensive consultations", i.e., County Hall spin doctors' jargon for "doing what we planned to do anyway".

Is there no limit to the county council's penny-pinching?

No doubt, next they will carry out their threat to make primary school children pay for cycling proficiency training.

The county cabinet claims to support sustainable transport, but then does the opposite, blaming "inadequate funding" from central government.

When will our elected representatives realise that West Sussex residents are fed up with hearing that excuse?

County council cabinet members Mark Dunn and Tex Pemberton should have their heads knocked together; perhaps then they would come to their senses?
