Site not feasible

So, Arun District Council is to spend another £100,000 of our money on a feasibility study concerning the proposal to put a new swimming pool on the Cornfield site.

Let me save them the trouble. It is not feasible. The site is on a busy main road, soon to become even busier. There is not enough space for a sportsdome or adequate parking and the ground is contaminated.

On the other hand, it would be perfectly feasible to build a new pool on the site of the old one, when and if this becomes necessary.

Coincidentally, this is what most people would prefer. We would even be prepared to wait 18 months, provided the new contract was signed before demolishing the existing pool.

Why do our councillors have such a problem with this idea?
