Museum to open its doors for localvillages weekend

A steam train will run up and down the site, a bus can take you on a guided tour and volunteers and craftsmen will talk about and demonstrate their exhibits.

Local organisations will be invited to attend the day to add to the community feel of the event, which will include local beers from the Greyhound Brewery in West Chiltington and performances by local schools. If you live in BN18, RH20 or BN44, come along with a recent utility bill to benefit from 2 for 1 entry (cheapest free and other conditions apply). The Museum will also be open to the general public on this day at the standard rates, so if you have friends from outside the local area, they can enjoy the day too.

Amberley Museum is a 36 acre site set in the South Downs National Park dedicated to industrial heritage, with communications and electricity exhibition halls, working printshop, stationary engines, lime kilns and more. Visitors can take free rides on the narrow gauge railway or historic bus. The Museum is home to a variety of traditional craftspeople, such as the wheelwrights and potters, with a café, gift shop and nature trails.
