Letter was a tasteless smear on my character

I was disappointed to read Cllr Maya Evans’s letter in last week’s paper.

Although it is true that I believe that using a meeting of Hastings Borough Council to discuss nuclear weapons is a waste of time, my support of veterans should not be called into question.

I have been supportive of veterans causes since I was a teen and will always be so. Like many, I feel strongly about veterans as my late father was a soldier.

I would urge Cllr Evans to refrain in future from tasteless smearing of her opponent’s character.

I would conclude by further urging Cllr Evans and Hastings Labour to join me by wearing a poppy with pride this year.
