LETTER: Memories of a starring role

I say, darling, did you spot in the WOW section of the County Times of May 22 that really splendid photo of me as an actor starring in your local theatre.

I am the good-looking slim young man with the dark hair. WOW indeed. I may not be the greatest thespian and I dare say that even my assistant stage manager, Michael, might have more potential.

Anyway, did you see the show? It was not on very recently. In fact it was a year or two ago. Well, time flies and to be absolutely honest, it was 61 years ago in 1953.

Those were the days, eh? A half of King and Barnes Best for under a shilling. I have moved around quite a bit in my life since then, as you can tell because I now live near Horsham Museum, a wonderful place.

Everything in there seems so familiar. Actually I am seriously thinking of moving in myself.

Toodle pip.
