When we look at p7 (July 2) and see how councillors voted on June 24, we see surprise, surprise that Cllr Cornell voted against the Motion to move houses back to Southwater from where they have been planned for some 20 years.
Cllr Cornell didn’t stand with his 14 Tory colleagues – he gave in.

Cllr Dawe gave Cllr Cornell a big prize of £6,525 per annum through the Cabinet appointment to take over from Andrew Baldwin who Cllr Dawe effectively sacked in the Council meeting (Cllr Dawe said that any Cabinet member who doesn’t support the Cabinet line ‘will suffer the consequences’).
So we all know now that the only northern ward councillor in the Cabinet is not going to help residents stop this Liberty development.
We shall watch Cllr Cornell’s performance with detailed interest.

We will also watch with interest to see his promotion before very long.
