Girl group impresses in TeenStar audition

A girl-group from Limelight Performing Arts in Steyning has wowed the judges at their first TeenStar audition and made it through to the Brighton Regional Finals of the UK’s only singing competition specifically for teens and pre-teens.

The girls are in a special Pre-Teen category and will now take part in a live regional head-to-head battle alongside the best talent in the area to win a place at the National Grand Final.

Called ‘The Lights’, the girls who were amongst hundreds of hopefuls who queued on the day at the Hove Centre for their turn to impress the judges, are all keen performers at Limelight who offer performing arts training and personal development for young people of all abilities aged 5 – 14 years.

Charlotte Palmer, Creative Director of Limelight said: “The girls really deserve this as they have been putting in extra hours over the last few months and their hard work and dedication has paid off. They delivered a strong performance with the judges commending them for their vocal depth, harmonies and professional performance. They are very excited about the competition and the possibilities of becoming a new girl band.”

TeenStar is an exciting national singing competition searching for the UK’s best teens and pre-teens singers, singer/songwriters, rappers and vocalists of all genres who perform either covers or original material. TeenStar is behind the discovery of artists such as Jacob Banks, Warner Music’s Birdy, Columbia Record’s Lucy Spraggan, and Union J’s Jaymi Hensley and Jahmene Douglas, both of whom are now signed to Sony Music, meaning TeenStar is an exciting singing competition for teens and pre-teens to get involved in.

On the evening of the Brighton Regional Final at The Hove Centre, there will be a concert with some previous Open Mic UK and X Factor acts. Tickets are available to purchase now from SeeTickets.
