Forgetful driver

I HAVE some sympathy for 82-year-old Patrick Higgins being fined for “forgetting to display” his parking disk (Gazette, October 28).

However, the fact that he admits his medical state at the time had been “a cause for alarm” and says, “When I am under pressure, I have moments of forgetfulness. It’s unusual, but it happens”, rather alarms me.

Might these moments include forgetting to indicate or use the rear view mirror for example?

Should Mr Higgins be driving at all with his medical condition?
