Call for Littlehampton's vegetarian friendly restaurants

NATIONAL Vegetarian Week 2007 is from May 21-27. This year's campaign is very topical '“ "Why it is green to be veggie".

Did you know, for example, that farmed animals produce more greenhouse gas emissions than the world's entire transport system?

Or that it takes far less water to grow vegetarian food than it does to produce meat?

Vegetarians also benefit from lower rates of heart disease, diabetes and certain cancers '“ and we eat well. Look at the hundreds of recipes at www.vegsoc.org if you don't believe us!

For further information about all aspects of vegetarianism, visit the National Vegetarian Society's website at the above address, or telephone 0161 925 2000.

I'd be delighted to hear from any eating establishments in our area who are vegetarian-friendly (i.e., who have more than one vegetarian choice on the menu '“ and not the ubiquitous veggie lasagne or jacket potato, please) for a free listing on the Arun & Worthing vegetarian website at www.awveg.makessense.co.uk
