All-clear thanks

During the Christmas period, I spent a lot of time checking for blocked drains and making sure we had no serious flooding going on within River ward, in Littlehampton.

While I was doing these spot checks, it became very noticeable that people were taking time to help themselves and also their local community by keeping the roadside drains clear from rubbish and debris.

I would like to say a big thank-you to residents of River ward for being vigilant and diligent during the bad weather that we have had recently. I do not know who did it, or who you are, but you do, and I thank you very much. By doing your bit for the community, you have saved more people from suffering with flooding and kept our roads free from surface water by keeping our drains clear of rubbish and debris.

I know it is not your job or position to do so, however it proves one thing and that is, when we are up against it, the local communities pull together. I know that most of our drains within River ward were cleaned prior to the storms, which was probably more luck than judgement, but again, I thank you again for what you did, it is very much appreciated.
