It's time to get real

WHY is it, when adults choose to complain about youth activities in the town, the venue in question is immediately closed down?

It's not as if this action against See or Be Seen is the one and only time that this has happened in central Worthing.

It seems to me that, if we want our youngsters to enjoy an evening out at a venue specifically for them, we should all go out of our way to make it possible.

There are other venues for under-18s on a Friday night, one not far from my house, but that's not the point.

Worthing railway station is a popular disembarking point for train, bus and taxi passengers, so a venue right alongside it is a godsend.

Some might come worse for wear and these would almost certainly be denied access, and quite rightly.

What these excluded might then do must not be considered the responsibility of the club management.

It's these youngsters that we pay our police to deal with.

Shutting down a venue is not an appropriate response.

So come on Worthing, let's get real and get this regrettable decision reversed.
