2015 has been a busy year for Hastings and Rye, with local residents coming together to support our local campaigns for better rail, bus and road links, our hospital, beaches, schools and local police force. Moreover, after a great deal of toil and sweat and a £14.2million refurbishment, I am pleased that Hastings Pier will re-open in the Spring, with a gala celebration planned for May.

We have fantastic businesses in Hastings and Rye that are making more, trading more and creating many more jobs for those of us looking to get on. My fifth annual employment fair will look to help keep this trend going when, on Friday 26 February, I bring local employers together with people seeking a job or apprenticeship. Further information on this is available here - http://www.hastingsjobsfair.co.uk/.

As your local MP, I am always focused on helping families improve their lives and am very much looking forward to continuing in 2016 to meet and correspond with you as well as visit more of our local businesses, schools and charities. I look forward to hearing from you if ever I can help- please do not hesitate to get in touch by emailing [email protected].

In 2016 we need to build on our local successes, look ahead to the next challenges and raise the bar even higher. We have great strengths, a huge pool of talent and plenty of energy in our diverse local community, so I feel confident that 2016 will see more growth, more jobs and more security for hard working families in Hastings and Rye.

Once again, I wish you all a very happy and prosperous new year.
