We asked you to send in pictures of your Diamond Jubilee events and you did us proud.

The occasional downpour did little to dampen the enthusiasm of those taking part in the many events.

It was a fantastic weekend of flags, flaming beacons and fireworks.

The thing that really stood out for us though was the sense of community spirit.

It is wonderful that is such a high-tech hectic world there is still time and space for the simple pleasure of coming together and having fun.

We also have a lasting legacy of the Jubilee with a new garden area in Battle that everyone can enjoy.

The celebrations may be over but the memories will live on for many years to come.
