Changes to Marion's

GIVEN local concerns about our plans for Marion's restaurant at BRWMH, I wanted to clarify for your readers our new arrangements for preparing inpatient meals and to reassure them that Marion's will remain open for our patients, staff and visitors, to enjoy a deli-style sandwich service.

We are introducing the cook-freeze method at the hospital for our inpatients to bring it in line with other catering arrangements that we provide across the trust.

There are many benefits of this method which is used in over 300 NHS hospitals nationally. These include: increased menu flexibility, more patient choice, more consistent quality, improved food hygiene standards and greater flexibility to cater for dietary and cultural needs.

We apologise for the fact that the shift to cook-freeze means we will no longer prepare hot meals at Marion’s for staff and visitors, but are pleased to confirm that the deli-style sandwich service provides freshly-made sandwiches, including salads and paninis, Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3pm.
