Amazed at Worthing Hospital's efficency

I FEEL compelled to write to you to briefly outline a recent "encounter" I have had with Worthing Hospital and to praise every aspect of my time spent there.

I was sent to the X-Ray Department by my GP, who told me that this department was open between 9am and 10.30am.

Having had little to do with the NHS in recent years but having heard and read about their total inefficiency, I went into the department at 9am, fully expecting to spend at least the morning there (and as I had another appointment at noon), deciding in my mind at what time I should tell them that I could no longer wait.

To my complete amazement, I was called in at 9.05 and was walking out of the hospital at 9.25 am.

I was contacted by the department the following week to, unfortunately, alert me to the fact that they had - for some reason - not transferred my particular images onto the requisite disc and asked if I could come back in to be re-X-rayed.

I very much took the line that "these things happen" and we agreed that I would go back to the department today at 9am.

Once again, I was seen almost immediately and was walking out of the hospital at 9.20 am.

Although I am sure this is not always the case, I thought that the efficiency and kindness shown by the hospital and their staff, (and the X-Ray Department in particular), was well worth noting as people are very ready to write and complain if the opposite happens.
