Open day at Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre

ONE OF the biggest open days Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre has ever seen took place on Sunday December 4.

More than 80 disabled children and 100 friends and family celebrated Christmas early at the Discovery Open Day.

Children saw Santa and enjoyed a wide range of activities including festive cooking, arts and crafts, trampolining, bouncy castle, athletics, badminton and much more.

The brand new £20,000 Discovery Sensory Room located at the centre was made possible by the funding from Aiming High for Disabled Children and a partnership between DC Leisure and Horsham District Council.

This is just one of many facilities proposed for demolition at the end of next November.

Suzanne Travers, Discovery Open Day organiser, added: “The day was a huge success but needless to say everyone was very upset about the potential closure and loss of facilities.”

The next Discovery Open Day is on Sunday February 26. For more information contact the centre on 01403 211311.
