1st Ninfield Scout group would like to thank all that supported their jumble sale last Saturday. They had an amazing amount of goods donated and a fantastic number of people searching for those hidden gems. The Executive Committee would like to thank all of the parents, grandparents, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and friends that helped to set up, run stalls and clear away. This was their best ever Jumble Sale!

The East Sussex County Council Mobile Library service will next be in the villages tomorrow, February 1 & 15 at:

Ninfield Flower Group are next meeting on Monday, February 3, in the Memorial Hall commencing at 7.30pm. They will be holding a workshop entitled “Foliage only”. This is a popular evening and is open to all members. On Monday, March 3, they will welcome Jean Plaskett to the Memorial Hall commencing at 7.30pm with her demonstration entitled “Omnium”. A new ‘No Cold Calling’ sticker is available for Ninfield and the Neighbourhood Watch team are in the process of getting to every property in the village to post one through your door. These are easy to display as they are self adhesive. Just peal off one side and adhere to the glass of your door. Alternatively, they can be nailed to a gate. Ninfield operates a No Cold Calling policy to deter bogus callers and unwanted door to door sales.

Arthritis Research UK are holding a Winter Warmer Lunch on Wednesday, February 5, at the Reading Room 12pm for a 12.30pm lunch. Tickets are £7.50 per person which must be booked in advance by calling 892593. There will also be a Bring and Buy stall and a raffle.

The Bexhill & District Community First Responders, who cover Bexhill, Ashburnham, Ninfield, Catsfield, Crowhurst, Hooe , Whydown & Normans Bay, will be meeting on Wednesday February 5. This is at Bexhill Fire Station at 7.30pm, every first Wednesday in the month. If you are interested in finding out more please contact the Team Leader, Mike Dean on 07970024135.

Hooe Open Group’s next meeting will be held on February 14, commencing at 2.30pm at Hooe Village Hall. There will be a talk by Barry Wilkinson on his experiences working in Lewes Prision. For further information contact Edna Wallis on 01424 842591.

Ninfield Local History Group are meeting on February 20, with Jan Cooper & Liz Darbyshire on a talk on the ‘Lost Shops of Ninfield’ with help from some NLHG members. Christian Voices, the Musical Drama Group, present their latest play “Ezra” on Saturday, February 22 in Ninfield Methodist Church Hall at 3p.m. The play was written by Alan Young and the songs composed by Dave Chamberlin.

The play, based on the story in the Old Testament, tells of how one man went to Jerusalem, and through his Devotion and teachings, repaired the damaged relationship it’s people had with God.

Ninfield Flower Group are holding a jumble sale on March 15, 2pm at the Memorial Hall, Ninfield. Anyone wishing to donate and will be unable to attend please contact Jennifer on 01424 892878.
