NHS Trust beats targets on cutting waiting times

WORTHING and Southlands Hospitals NHS Trust has exceeded the national target to reduce the time patients wait from referral from their GP to starting their treatment.

By March 31, 2008, the Department of Health had wanted 85 per cent of patients needing admission to hospital to start treatment within 18 weeks of referral from their GP and 90 per cent of patients not needing admission.

Statistics from the Department of Health show increased numbers of patients are starting hospital treatment within 18 weeks of referral from their GP.

Worthing and Southlands exceeded these national targets.
