The new service will require residents on fortnightly collections to put all recycling, including cardboard, into their green bin ready for the new collections.

Garden waste is now a chargeable service for which subscribing customers will have received a brown bin.

Any residents without a brown bin who cannot compost garden waste will have to take it to the nearest Household Recycling Centre.

Residents are being warned that their bin collection days may have changed under the new scheme.

Information packs have been sent out to households across Rother ahead of the roll out.

A series of information events are currently being held across the district to ensure that everyone knows about the impending changes.

Cllr Tony Ganly, portfolio holder for waste and recycling at Rother District Council, said: “The revised service will be rolled out across the district from Monday, June 30, and we want to make sure residents have all the details needed for disposing of their rubbish and recycling.”

All the information about the new service and what can be recycled can be found at www.rother.gov.uk

The website has a ‘when is my bin day’ function where residents can find out when their next waste and recycling collection day is.
