Marina fete raises £1000 for charity

Berth holders and the local community stepped out into the sunshine at the free charity event, which featured various craft stalls, face painting, a traditional sweet cart, and a bouncy castle.

The RNLI charity also checked 45 lifejackets over the course of the day, and provided information about safety at sea.

The Rainbow Centre is a Fareham based charity that supports children and adults affected by cerebral palsy, stroke and multiple sclerosis.

Graeme Barnsley, Marina manager, said: “The summer fete was all about giving our berth holders an enjoyable day and inviting the wider harbour community so that they could sample what is to offer here, and to support our favourite charity, the Rainbow Centre, so I’m delighted that through our partnership with the onsite restaurant we’ve raised over £1000.”
