"When they arrived they found a male aged 20 with a puncture wound in his back.

"He was taken to hospital and treated. He was released later during the night. It was a stab wound to the back. Fortunately, it was not serious but there was the potential for it to have been very serious indeed.

"Inquiries were made and as a result it transpires that the victim, who lives at Jacob's Acre, went out to speak to two men in the street.

"A fight then occurred during the course of which he received this injury.

"The two men left the scene and currently being sought by the police.

"It would appear that all the parties involved are acquainted with each other and that this was not a random attack on a member of the public.

"If anyone witnessed the incident that police have not already spoken to I would ask them please to contact Detective Constable Anton Affonso at Bexhill police station on 0845 6070999."
