Lucky escape for man pinned by bus

A GOOD Samaritan had a lucky escape after he ended up pinned between a bus and a car on the A21.

The double-decker bus was travelling north when it became stuck in snow between Robertsbridge and Hurst Green at 2.30am on Sunday.

A passer-by stopped to help the Dartford-based bus driver dig the stricken vehicle out of the drift.

But as the man stood behind the bus, the vehicle skidded and pinned him up against a black Citroen parked nearby.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene and the man was released.

The 34-year-old, from Flimwell, was rushed to the Conquest Hospital in Hastings.

Police say the man suffered ‘severe bruising’ in the accident.
