London rocks for local youth charity

THE capital rocked earlier this month as The Kezi Silverstone Trust was launched at London Rocks 2013 in the famous Café de Paris in Leicester Square.

The Kezi Silverstone Trust raises funds and awareness for children’s charities and in particular for charities that fight to prevent the abuse and neglect of children.

Last week’s star-studded night was the fourth annual London Rocks, a sell-out charity awareness and fundraising event staged by Live & Loud Events and Kezi Silverstone.

Famous for its incredible line-up of talent, London Rocks 2013 once again featured some of the cream of European talent. Twenty acts took to the stage including Juan Zelada, Lee Ryan and Simon Webbe from pop phenomenon Blue, Jethro ‘Alonestar’ Sheeran, Unsung Lilly, Empress Stah and Kezi Silverstone. The evening was hosted by Jonathan Wilkes and Paul Burling.

Kezi Silverstone is the ambassador for Young Pioneers, a Battle charity which enables young people to overcome adversity, be successful and lead change.

Funds from the evening will be shared with Young Pioneers to help the charity in its work and provide opportunities for victims of abuse and neglect. Founder and CEO, Luke Lancaster, said: “Kezi is an amazing ambassador who is a positive role model for all of us.

“As a survivor of abuse she works continually to help those young people who have faced hardships in their life to become survivors.

“London Rocks was a fantastic event and many acts and companies pledged their support to Kezi’s Trust and her mission to help charities like ours create opportunities for vulnerable young people and show that it is Cool to Care.”

Kezi said: “As each year passes London Rocks grows and I am forever humbled by the continued support of companies, individuals and acts who help make this spectacular night possible.

“Experiences from childhood can have a lasting impact. Despite how brave and strong you are, some scars never heal.

“It’s not just the child who suffers; it’s the woman or the man they subsequently become.

“Children should be cherished, loved and nurtured. But, the harsh reality is that for some children this will never be.

“It is my personal quest and the mission of The Kezi Silverstone Trust to help those children who have walked a slightly less charmed path, survive and flourish, whatever it takes.

“I would like to thank our sponsors Duradiamond, C&P Panelcraft, LV=, The Café de Paris and PipTom, the acts who took the stage and everyone who contributed to the night. Without them, this incredible event would not be possible.”
