Littlehampton knight’s royal wedding walk from Worthing to London
Colin Bickers, 38, of Watersmead Drive, Littlehampton, will walk the 55 miles dressed in full armour, with sword and shield, weighing a total of five stone.
He will leave the Rose and Crown pub, Montague Street, Worthing, where he is a regular on St George’s Day, and hopes to arrive in time for the royal nuptials on Friday, April 29.

He said: “As soon as the wedding date was announced, I booked a hotel for me and my wife. The idea of the walk developed over time – aided by a few pints of ale.”
Walk support
Colin is not taking any money with him and will be relying on generous people he meets on the way to give him food and a place to sleep.
He will need this support because he will be walking on his own most of the time, with just the odd visit from friends with a change of underwear.

Hide AdColin, who works for the Green Insurance Group in Worthing, has been training by walking several miles every other day and carrying increasing amounts of weight.
He added: “Physically the main risk is chaffing tearing my skin off.”
He is using strategically-placed bandages to protect himself.
Charity donation
The wandering knight has also been asked to present a specially-made replica historic sword to Buckingham Palace on behalf of Chomutova, a district in the Czech Republic, where his armour is made.
Colin is confident he will complete the walk.
