Pupils from a Bognor Regis school got out of their cars and took part in Walk to School week.

And children from Edward Bryant School also got on their bikes and roller blades to avoid using the car.

Staff from the school got into the spirit of the day too leaving the car park looking empty.

Some teachers arrived on tandems from Chichester and one teaching assistant even swam part of his journey from Aldwick

A school survey found that 1269 journeys to school had been made without a car, several hundred more than usual.

Everyone at the school had also been able to consider the health and environmental benefits of not travelling by car.

The week formed part of a wider travel plan that the school is currently developing.
