JUNIOR UNIT RETURNS

THE Seahaven division of the St John Ambulance Cadet Unit is to re-form after lying dormant for three years.The first meeting takes place on Monday (Sept 11) at the divisional headquarters in Little Place Lane, Seaford, from 6.30pm to 8pm.

The officer in charge will be Oliver Ridley, a former pupil at Seaford Head Community College. He will be assisted by Terri Lynch, Jamie Bennett and other adult members.

The Seahaven Division covers an area from the Golden Galleon pub at Exceat to Telscombe Cliffs and the unit will be open to people aged 10 to 18. New members will have a 'buddy' to help support them through the early stages of their training. The cadet programme will be varied and include first aid training, talks on a variety of topics, opportunities for personal development and social events.

Cadets will also be available to accompany adult members out on duty. Divisional duties include events such as carnivals, school and village fetes, theatre productions and firework displays.
