Sunday 1 July was a lovely day for a Garden Party and 81 visited the beautiful gardens of Manor Farm Oast. Lunches were served to 61 people. Kate and Syd Mylrea were delighted that over £700 was raised for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Kate and Syd thank all those who supported the event and are especially grateful to all those who helped.

Tuesday 10 July 7.30 a charity Quiz Night in the Robin Hood. £5 entry includes a Ploughman’s. All proceeds will be donated to the Oliver Curd Trust. To book a table phone Sue 01424 814277.

Friday 13 July from 3pm Icklesham School Summer Fayre.Raffle tickets are available in the School and Icklesham Store.Many activities have been arranged for you to enjoy including face painting, excellent cakes, bouncy castle, pony rides,sangria and Pimms tent, football etc. There will also be a dance display and a parade of decorated umbrellas made by the children with music and drumming. Every body is welcome to come and support our local school.

Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 two local art groups,Three Oaks and Icklesham, have a joint exhibition in Winchelsea Court House 10am -6pm..All work will be for sale with 10% of the proceeds donated to Parkinson’s UK. Refreshments and a raffle.

Thursday 19,Friday 20, Saturday 21 & Sunday 21 Village Beer Festival Robin Hood.

Wednesday 18 July The Olympic Torch convoy will travel from Battle to Hastings and along the A259 through Icklesham to Rye.There will be a temporary road closure.

Friday 20 July 7.30 Memorial Hall A Murder Mystery and the Icklesham Players A.G.M.

Sunday 22. Father Howard Cocks takes his last service as Vicar of Icklesham.

Tuesday 24 July 5th annual Icklesham Casuals Golf Tournament at Willingdon Golf Club from 3pm. The cost is £29 which includes 18 holes of golf followed by a meal and is open to all past and present members of Icklesham Casuals. If you are interested in taking part please get in touch with the Club.

Saturday 4 August Icklesham Fete and Flower Show

Twelve members of Icklesham Casuals Football Club completed the 75 Holes in a Day Charity Golf Challenge on Monday 25 June, with Stuart Baker also surviving the whole day as caddy for George Potter. The first ball was struck at Sedlescombe Golf Club at 4.25 am, first light, and the last group completing the 75th hole as the light faded about 9.30pm over the Weald of Kent course.It was a brilliant ,rewarding if very tiring day. There were a few aching muscles at the end. There is a photograph and a report on the Club’s website www.icfc.co.uk

A big thank you to everyone who organised the event and to all the sponsors of holes whose generosity helped to raise over £3000 for charity fund raising.
