Hurst Green village voice

Unless something spectacular occurs within the next few minutes this week’s column will, like the third ghostly visitor to Scrooge, deal with “things that are to come”.

Even this first of these notices happens in another village but it is hoped that many people from Hurst Green will support it. On Saturday 24 there will be a table top sale in Robertsbridge in aid of Bliss which helps new-born babies who are sick. A most worthy cause. If you can provide anything to sell please ring 01580 881 845.

The big event in Hurst Green happens on March 23/24 when Comedy Capers performs Aladdin pantomime. Tickets from Technique £6 or £5 on line. Their performances are always of a high quality and all ages can enjoy them.

Special attention must be drawn to the Black Bin Day meetings which take place at the village hall in the Nora Osborne hall from 2 pm. (alternate Tuesdays but you knew that didn’t you?) Enjoyed by a group of retired people, this presents an opportunity to have a chat, play games, listen to some music and imbibe the basic requirement of a cuppa and refreshments.

Come along on spec and you will be welcomed by this friendly group.

Sunday services for the village take place in Robertsbridge Fair Lane church Room at 9am for a short Communion Service and at 11 am in St. Mary’s Salehurst. Etchingham services are advertised in the Etchingham column and include a variety of services for children/Communion/or family service.
