Hospice plans a rebuild

ST Barnabas House hospice, Worthing, which offers palliative care for West Sussex patients with advanced cancer and other advanced life-limiting diseases, is planning to rebuild.

The current premises in Columbia Drive, Worthing, which were first opened in 1973 by Dr Francis Gusterson as a non-religious organisation, are coming to the end of their life.

The hospice has been looking at various options for some time and is now in final negotiations for a new site close to current premises.

The site would enable the hospice to build a new 22-bed facility, expanding on the current 15 beds and day hospice.
