Heathfield, Punnetts Town, Broad Oak & Cross In Hand

HISTORY SOCIETY: The AGM of Heathfield and District History Society in March rounded off another successful year for the society. After a speedy dispatch of the business in hand the members were treated to the viewing of a DVD of Heathfield Park from 1973-1993 compiled by Heathfield resident Mr A Knapman. It contrasted views of the park in its heyday when Dr Gerald Moore introduced a variety of visitor attractions, notably a wildlife park and motor museum, with those of the mindless vandalism of later years and finally the sale of the contents of the house in 1993. It sparked off memories and lively conversations around the room.
