Hastings and Battle RAF Cadets fundraising quiz night event

THE committee of the RAF Cadets in Hastings and Battle organised the annual 304 and 304DF Quiz Night recently.

The event took place at Castledown School in Hastings after the Cadets some time the weekend previous clearing and tidying the school grounds.

With a host of prizes and offers from local businesses to complete the raffle, and the bragging rights of the Quiz Cup (and a Wooden Spoon) at stake, more than 90 people attended the event. A range of hot food and cold drinks were on offer, including sausages from Appleyards Butchers, and locally-brewed ale from the FILO.

In all, over £975 was raised through the event, with a team from Stagecoach winning the main quiz competition.

Flt Lt James Berry-Robinson said: “It was a superb effort. Particular thanks go to Carole Morton and Michele Mackintosh for organising much of the event.”

The funds will go to repairing the squadron minibus so cadets from Hastings and Battle can attend external activities.
