Grants to help groups foster a healthier community

COMMUNITY groups in Littlehampton and the surrounding villages are being invited to bid for funds to boost people’s health and lifestyles.

Grants of up to £500 are being offered by the Arun Wellbeing and Health Partnership (AWHP) to organisations whose activities promote or support one or more of the AWHP’s priorities.

These include providing information and activities that promote prevention of ill-health, improving mental wellbeing, tackling health inequalities, providing services for older people to enable better quality of life, and working with families, young people and children on a range of lifestyle issues.

Councillor Paul Wotherspoon, Arun District Council’s cabinet member for community services, said: “These grants really help support voluntary, charity and community groups in the district and the valuable work and support they provide to residents.”

For further information on eligibility and how to apply for a grant, groups are asked to call Claire Dower on 01903 737862 or Joy Bradbury-Ball on 01903 737855, or to email [email protected]

The next deadline for submissions is Friday, October 24, and applications will be considered by a panel towards the end of November.
