"Davison girls voted to ban the boys"

This has been, and always will be, just a rumour.

I finished my four years at Davison High School yesterday, and our prom was on Tuesday (May 15) night.

When our prom was first being organised, we were told we weren't allowed to take boys.

Previously, we too, had thought we could vote for our choice.

We all thought this highly unjust that we weren't allowed to take boys; what's a prom without a prom date?

But now we know the reasons for no boys; think about it, many girls have older boyfriends, and that could be dangerous, drink, drugs and many other reasons. There never was any such vote.

And anyway, I for one am pleased no boys went; I've spent four years of school without them, and prom wouldn't have been the same if they were there.

I went to St Andrew's prom, on Monday night, and I felt like I was on show all evening, whereas at Davison prom, I just had fun with the girls I'd be leaving in September.

I hope that clears that one up.
