Street20 cricket is a simpler form of the game which suits young players who enjoy the straightforward format and short 20-minute games.

With adapted rules and scoring, Street20 cricket has small teams of six and a quick turnaround of games to keeps everyone involved.

The K2 Crawley sessions take place in the main sports hall every Monday from 5pm-6pm. They start on January 13 and will run during the school term.

Steve Feazey, cricket development manager at the Sussex Cricket Board said: “We are very happy to be working with Freedom Leisure to facilitate this Street20 session at K2 Crawley.

“The great thing about Street20 is anyone can play, games are quick – lasting just 20 balls per team - and the adapted rules and scoring make it easy to understand. It’s a fast-moving game and we ensure that each child has plenty of involvement.

Dave Downey community sports development officer, Freedom Leisure said: “We are pleased to be able to run Street20 cricket here at K2 Crawley and are looking forward to welcoming young people from a variety of backgrounds, ages and abilities.

“Running the sessions during the winter will help keep budding cricketers on their toes and will get them ready for some outdoor action in the spring.”
