Schools enter their teams with a chance to compete in the finals at Wembley stadium before the culmination of a major Football League final. The winners go through regional rounds to win the chance to represent Crawley Town in that game. The Girls first round winners were Oriel High School who won their pool at the Hazelwick School against their hosts.

The Utilita Cup winners were Pound Hill Junior School who overcame Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Primary in the final at the Broadfield 3G. The final score was 2-1 and both teams can be proud of the efforts, played in a positive and sporting manner.

As winter has arrived and the cost of living is beginning to impact the community. The Foundation understands that it is expensive to do the things that society would normally do and that the cost of heating and food is rising. Our Extra Time Hubs session at the Broadfield Stadium is for our over 50s community and offers refreshments and a warm place every Friday between 11:30-1:30pm and we would love to see new members for some conversation and comfort. The First session is free and £3 each time after.

We offer walking football between 12-1pm in the ball court and a host of activities upstairs in the Mayo Wynne Baxter Suite with guests and seated fitness opportunities.

In other news the Foundation were sad to hear the news that the Wigan Community Trust Head of Foundation Tim Flower has passed away a fortnight ago. The Head of Foundation Darren Ford said:

“Tom was devoted to his role at Wigan and he will leave a huge gap not just within community of Wigan, but within the close knit community of those who manage and lead Club Community Organisations. Tom will be missed by all of us within the Club Community Organisation network.”
