“Wow!” “Stunning, creative arrangements”; “Brilliant interpretations: a joy to see”; “Wonderful show”; “Very beautiful flowers and colours” - Just a few of the comments made by visitors to Ninfield Flower Group’s Flower Festival over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The theme of this year’s Festival was On The Box, with displays inspired by television favourites.

Chairman Christine Purkess said: “Visitors were stunned by the variety of the interpretation of television programmes, from the stylish ‘Have I got news for you’ through the ‘Frozen Planet’, with penguins made from plant material, to the colourful chorus line at the ‘London Palladium’ and a black and white television arrangement amongst many others.

“There were many different ideas and great detail from a very talented group of flower arrangers.

“The festival was to raise awareness and money for three charities: The Medical Detection Dogs, the Bexhill Dementia Action Alliance and the Dragonflies Project which helps children cope with bereavement.

“The Festival was opened by Lucky, a black Labrador, who is a medical alert assistance dog for his owner, Brian Lynn.”
