There was a fire on the ground floor of the residence which is believed to have started in a tumble dryer, according to ESFRS.

A spokesperson said there were no casualties as a result of the incident, which was accidental.

The crew said it used two breathing apparatus and a hose reel to control the blaze.

The road was closed both ways between Southdown Road and Fort Road, the AA added.
