Alone in the silage area a new born bull calf was bawling for its Mum.Two calves have been born today. One claimed and with its Mum, this one an apparent orphan although as it had been licked clean, there must have been a responsible adult somewhere on the farm

All the cows were back in the fold-yard and not one of them looked in the least bit distressed about losing a claf. John walked the calf round into the big yard and got the calf up on to the straw. Then he left.
