Birdwatch at RSPB Pulborough Brooks

The BGBW was first carried out in 1979 and has generated a wealth of information on the comings and goings of birds in people's gardens since then.

The idea is that for an hour you count the maximum number of each species in your garden at any one time.

That gives us an amazing picture of which birds are using gardens all over the country and their relative abundance.

Some very significant changes have been seen in the birdlife of the country over the past 30 years or so.
