Drunk fined after headbutting cars

A drunk was fined after she was seen trying to vandalise cars in Upper Lake, Battle.

The 21-year-old St Leonards woman had attempted to pull the wipers off the cars, but was too drunk, so decided to headbutt the windscreens instead.

When police were called to the scene at 10.30pm on Thursday May 13, they found the woman laying in the road at Battle Hill.

She was shouting and began struggling with police before she was arrested.

She was given an 80 fixed penalty for being drunk and disorderly.

Police say the incident is not linked to the recent spate of car vandalism in the area.

Sgt Dan Russell, of Battle police, said: "This was an isolated incident with a woman who had just had too much to drink."
