Dear Tony, so sorry we missed you on Tuesday

WORTHING Hospital staff waving placards and a doctor dressed as the Grim Reaper protested outside the TUC conference in Brighton on Tuesday.

Six staff from the accident and emergency department joined forces with KWASH campaigners in a bid to save Worthing Hospital from being closed or downgraded under proposal by health bosses to cut costs.

Waving banners and placards stating "closing hospitals kills" and ringing bells, the protesters gathered at the Brighton Centre where the conference was being held in a bid to get their message across to Prime Minister Tony Blair, who was speaking to unions at the conference.
