Thieves target a Littlehampton street over the weekend

THIEVES have targeted a street in Littlehampton during a spate of raids yesterday morning (Sunday, June 24) police have announced this afternoon.

Officers are appealing for witnesses after the series of crimes in Kendal Close took place, at some time between midnight and 4am, yesterday.

Burglars stole a mobile phone and the contents of a handbag when they broke into one home in the road. They also entered a garage and five cars parked in the street, during the evening.

The majority of the property – mainly small items such as loose change and sunglasses – has now been recovered after they were strewn in the across the road in Kendal Close and nearby Timberleys.

Detective Constable Rachael Miles said; “All the crimes specifically targeted property and vehicles which had been left unlocked. We remind local residents to secure their houses and vehicles, especially in these summer months when the weather actually shows signs of warming up.

“Inquiries are continuing but we have made no arrests so far. Any witnesses or anyone else with information is asked to call 101 quoting serial 0280 of 23/6. Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
