CRIME FILE: Search for stolen ice cream machine and other crimes in Worthing

THIEVES have stolen jewellery, sat-nav systems, hair straighteners and an ice cream whippping machine during the last week.

Home burgled

JEWELLERY and a camera were stolen from a house in St George's Road, East Worthing, on Saturday, May 31.

The alarm on the house was activated at 11.38am and the thieves broke in through the back.

Multi-storey targets

CARS parked in multi-storey car parks in Worthing have been targeted by thieves.

In the High Street multi-storey on Wednesday, May 28, thieves attempted to break into a Fiat Punto, but were not successful.

A Renault Clio parked in Teville Gate multi-storey was broken into sometime between noon and 2pm on Saturday, May 31.

Thieves drilled the lock to get inside and stole CDs, a parcel shelf and speakers.

Stolen whippy

STOCK and parts from a whipping machine were stolen from a ice cream van parked in Tarring early on Tuesday, June 3.

Thieves removed a window from the Ford ice cream van, which was parked in Terringes Avenue, sometime between midnight and 4am.

Sat-navs taken

DRIVERS are again being urged by police not to leave sat-navs in their vehicles after two vans were broken into on Monday, June 2.

Thieves targeted a Mercedes van in Orchard Avenue and a Ford Transit van in nearby Loxwood Avenue.

A NEW town centre hair salon was broken into just hours after its official opening.

Stylists at Rush, in Montague Street, opened the salon's doors to their first clients on Saturday, May 31 '” but sometime after closing, thieves broke in through the back and stole 11 sets of hair straighteners.

Dimitri Loizi, the owner, said: "It was unfortunate, but just one of those things. Luckily, not much damage was caused to the salon."

Power tools

WORKMEN are being warned to remove power tools from their vans after a spate of break-ins in Lancing, Shoreham and Southwick.

Thieves have been stealing tools from the backs of the vans and company vehicles.

Anyone who is offered second hand tools for sale should contact Adur police.
