Crazy day hopes to raise a ‘smile’ for one Littlehampton charity

WACKY outfits and crazy hair could help one Littlehampton charity raise a smile or two on the faces of disabled children across the county, this week.

Littlehampton good cause Smile Support & Care is asking people in the area to slip into their most colourful fancy dress outfits to help raise much-needed cash for a new short-break centre for disabled young people.

The event, called Raise a Smile, will kick off on Friday (February 1). As well as donning fancy dress, those supporting the day can also take part in raffle, quiz or cake sell to drum-up the funds.

Community fund-raiser for Smile, Jess Zubaidi, Said taking part is easy: “Simply come to work or school in fancy dress and donate to Smile. You’d be amazed how much you can collect when your class, school or office join in.”

The Smile team helps young people to develop and achieve their potential, while helping their families to cope with the everyday pressures of life, caring for a disabled child.

The cash generated from Raise a Smile will support the organisation’s appeal to build a short-break centre in Waterlooville, Hampshire, to enable severely disabled youngsters from across the south to enjoy a break away.
