Cooking up some family treats

The project taught people how cheaply and easily they can cook. It was organised by East Sussex Federation of Women's Institutes together with sponsorship from Waitrose, Eastbourne.

Those who attended were shown basic food preparation skills, ways of obtaining a varied healthy diet on a low budget '“ all with the benefits of fresh cooking in an enjoyable, relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Certificates were presented to those who successfully completed the course and they were able to walk away proudly displaying their 'Let's Cook' shopping bag and apron. One of the student's husbands told her the meals in their house had improved considerably.
