Concert at St Augustine's

CONCERT lover's flocked to St Augustine's Church on Saturday to enjoy the first in a new season of concerts performed by the Bexhill Choral Society.

Under their conductor, Kenneth Roberts, with his Sussex Concert Orchestra, the concert comprised of Vivaldi's "Beatus Vir", Schubert's "Mass in G" and Handel's tour de force, "Dixit Dominus".

The soloists were Hannah Kirk, Sandra Lambourne, Judith Buckle, Gary Marriott and Barnaby Beer.

Bexhill Choral Society's Chairman, Sue Wright said the hard work that had gone into the concert reaped rewards.

She said: "Ken Roberts and the choir were all thrilled at the result that their hard work produced and we had fantastic playback from the audience '“ everyone was over the moon."

The choir's next concert is "Welcome, Yule" '“ Carols for Choir and Audience with Brass Ensemble - at St. Augustine's Church on Saturday, 12th December."
