Last year’s winner was Horsham and District Sands, which is a group run by volunteers who offer support to anyone affected by the death of a baby.

Julie Marsh nominated the charity after seeing the important work done there.

She wrote: “They are a lifeline to so many who need a listening ear once their hopes and dreams have come crashing down. The committee are all volunteers who have suffered a loss and they give up their time to train, man help lines and provide free events to allow families to remember their babies.

“I used to be on the committee but stepped down as there was so much work involved so I know how hard the charity works and what an incredible source of support they all are. Horsham and District Sands are also a strength of support during a scary future pregnancy. They are incredible!”

There are 15 other categories in which to nominate those people and groups which have most inspired you. They can be health workers, champions of the environment, animal lovers and passionate fundraisers.

The deadline for nominations is Thursday October 1 and the awards ceremony will be on Monday November 16.
